We Are Fantasy
Of Thoughts

So i’ve been thinking about this self-imposed deadline of mine to get stuff done within a week or so. It’s been stressing me out and i’ve been terribly unproductive. I made the choice today to just let it go, and not stress about it.

The deadline is important to me to hit, even now. But I’ve realized that all I can do right now is just try my best, and hopefully things will fall into place. As long as I push forward one way or the other, shit will get done.

For sure expect some updates soon. If I fall behind schedule then that’s ok (: It’s not like I have a throng of followers out there.

On Struggles

So I am somewhat waiting on getting specific notes about my script from the few I’ve given a preview to. Dreading critiques over a medium I know I am awful at, with a story I feel passionate about. However, it is something I do not intend to dwell on and will push forward to the next milestone for the project.

Creating a polished illustration/scene with my two main characters, teasing some elements of the story. This right now is my biggest goal, more important than actually making the comic.

If i can pull off a great illustration of these characters, and capably represent what I’m trying to convey, then it will be a small victory for me.

Issues: I am behind schedule. Remarkably so. Will be forced to skip costume studies for the time being and try to approximate their final outfits as best as possible.

Time Frame: February 16th-20th is tentative completion date for illustration.

To-do: After this i will revert to working on outfits again, making turn-arounds, expression sheets, figuring out side characters & locales.

The lead character of the story, the young devil Grael. I’ve been having some difficulty figuring his design from a head-on view so i spent some time today making this instead. Hoping to have a rough portrait done soon to get some feedback on.
Edit: Head-on view of Grael has been drawn. Didn’t struggle with it as much since i had the first drawing as a reference to go off of. Think it turned out alright, also he’s making a funny face because it amused me.
Next on my to-do list. Costume design, scene test/studies, expression charts, background characters.

Prep Work

I’ve got a couple of people reading over my (extremely) rough draft of the comic. It’s rather nerve wrecking to be honest, i’ve put a lot of thought into the story but writing is clearly not my strongest skill. Or making comics to be honest. But i’m trying to be open about my process, even if that means humiliating myself at certain points in time.

Still i’m excited about pushing forward with this project. Once i have a polished teaser/scene drawn up i’ll post up a preview of the story along with a synopsis.

Sketches of the character Rain. The one on the left is my complete failure to re-draw her, looks nothing like what is in my sketchbook. The version on the right is my last ditch attempt at salvaging the design.
I think the 2nd version turned out better than anticipated. Though i’m not sure i like the hair.

Of Beginnings.

New to this, haven’t quite gotten the hang of this site. The look of this shall be improved upon soon when I have the proper sources created and collected. I speak to an imaginary audience, but there you are, as imaginary as I. Please be patient and the story i’m planning will be told.

For now know that illustrations, sketches, and studies shall be posted as they are readied. It’ll be a slow process, but i promise to work diligently on the imagination.

I leave you with a rough sketch of things to come:
